Monroe Central Varsity Bears Trounce Muncie Central By GameChanger Media Monroe Central Varsity Bears won big over Muncie Central 15-9 on Friday. Muncie Central got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Logan Campbell scored after tagging up, and Aaron Coggeshall singled down the left field line, each scoring one run. Monroe Central Varsity Bears flipped the game on its head in the top of the second, scoring six runs on five hits to take the lead, 6-2. The biggest blow in the inning was a single by Carter Duncan that drove in two. Monroe Central Varsity Bears scored five runs on three hits in the top of the third inning. Duncan drew a walk, scoring one run, Caleb Luedike singled, scoring two runs, Logan Walker lined out, scoring one run, and Levi Pence doubled, scoring one run. Walker earned the win for Monroe Central Varsity Bears. The starter allowed six hits and seven runs (six earned) over five and two-thirds innings, striking out three and walking four. Campbell took the loss for Muncie Central. The hurler went two and two-thirds innings, allowing 11 runs on eight hits, striking out three and walking five. Pence appeared in relief for Monroe Central Varsity Bears. Monroe Central Varsity Bears collected 15 hits in the game. Conner Baker, Myles Oliphant, Kyler Bogue, Pence, and Tashaun Beatty each collected two hits for Monroe Central Varsity Bears. Walker, Duncan, and Beatty each drove in three runs for Monroe Central Varsity Bears. Mason McCreery paced Monroe Central Varsity Bears with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, piling up eight walks for the game. Walker and Duncan each stole multiple bases for Monroe Central Varsity Bears. Monroe Central Varsity Bears stole 10 bases in the game. Coggeshall provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Muncie Central with three runs batted in. The third baseman went 1-for-3 on the day. Fletcher Kahle went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Muncie Central in hits. Jaxyn Wesley paced Muncie Central with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, amassing seven walks for the game. Muncie Central were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error.
