Monroe Central JH Roll Past Selma Middle School By GameChanger Media Monroe Central JH easily dispatched Selma Middle School on Thursday at Wapahani High School, 16-5. Monroe Central JH got on the board in the top of the first inning after Selma Middle School committed an error, and Izzy McGrath grounded out, each scoring one run. Monroe Central JH added to their early lead in the top of the second inning after Ellie Lanter singled, and Finley Whitehead grounded out, each scoring one run. Monroe Central JH added to their early lead in the top of the third inning after Brynlee Dumpert walked, and Mati McConnell grounded out, each scoring one run. Monroe Central JH scored five runs on five hits in the top of the fourth inning. Haidyn Knott drew a walk, scoring one run, Dumpert singled, scoring two runs, and McConnell singled, scoring two runs. Monroe Central JH scored five runs on five hits in the top of the fifth inning. Bristol Goad singled, scoring one run, Delainee Whitehead singled, scoring one run, McGrath doubled, scoring two runs, and Dumpert doubled, scoring one run. Knott earned the win for Monroe Central JH. The pitcher surrendered four hits and four runs over four innings, striking out six and walking one. Brynlee S took the loss for Selma Middle School. The starting pitcher went three and two-thirds innings, allowing 10 runs (seven earned) on seven hits, striking out none and walking five. Whitehead appeared in relief for Monroe Central JH. Monroe Central JH accumulated 15 hits in the game. Goad led Monroe Central JH with three hits in four at bats from the leadoff position. Dumpert and McGrath each drove in three runs for Monroe Central JH. Knott and Lanter each collected multiple hits for Monroe Central JH. Whitehead stole two bases. Monroe Central JH had patience at the plate, tallying six walks for the game. S, Nora Wilsford, Hallee M, and Belle C each collected one hit for Selma Middle School.
