The 8th grade girls basketball team traveled to Daleville Saturday and brought home their 2nd straight conference championship. They started the day downing Shenandoah 40-17. Everyone one played and contributed to the victory allowing everyone to be fresh for the championship match up. Scoring in the first game was as follows. Izzy McGrath 10, Mila Morris 9, Claire Cheesman 8, Brynlee Dumpert 7, Gracie McCreery 6. In the championship game they faced off against a very talented Eastern Hancock team. The game was nip and tuck through the first 3 quarter with everyone playing a tremendous team defense and allowing for a 4th quarter explosion and defeating the Royals 33-26. Scoring for the game was as follows. Mila Morris 11, Izzy McGrath 10, Landry Taylor 4, Brynlee Dumpert and Claire Cheesman 3, Gracie McCreery 2. The young Bears will take their 15-0 record into a rematch with Selma Tuesday at home.
